Crochet basket pattern ideas
Crochet baskets can look fresh and modern. With all the options of home decor yarns and color combinations you can really style up your bedroom, living room, bathroom and home office with some great looking storage containers.
Many designers have created stylish designs that work so well with modern interiors you’d think they were store bought. The homey touch of a handmade crochet basket in a room adds a welcoming feeling like nothing else (except for maybe a roaring fire in the fireplace).
Beautiful crochet baskets make great gifts for housewarming, hostess gift (fill it with sweets, soaps, snacks) or teacher gift. The small and medium sized crochet baskets work up quite quickly too so they make a good short notice gift.

What are the best yarns for crochet baskets?
One of my favorite home decor yarns, jersey be good by Wool and the Gang I used to make a simple basket. A well-chosen yarn can make the simplest of designs can have big impact.
Yarns like jersey won’t pill up or look fuzzy. They maintain a streamlined fresh look despite any wear and tear they may get.
The yarns deliver a store bought clean professional look with the beauty of handmade design. These yarns show stitches in such an appealing way.
They are smooth to the touch so I find them a joy to crochet with.
If you can find jersey yarn in a color you like, crochet cord (macrame cord), often used for crochet bags has a great smooth feel and a sturdy crafter cotton will work too.
