I’ve been working on this pattern for about 6 weeks despite buying all the materials back in November! Cotton yarn isn’t exactly front of mind when Christmas decorations are going up.
The poncho is a great piece for when the air conditioning is chilly on shoulders, airplane cabins catch a breeze or cool spring and summer nights. It also keeps those damaging sun rays off your skin without breaking a sweat. I have worn it during 90 degree days of full sun and didn’t feel at all uncomfortable-shocking to me.

I used Lion Brand 24/7 cotton yarn for this piece. It launders like a dream with a little woolite and tumble in the dryer. After washing it feels similar to the softest of blue jeans. So many fun colors I have been making little household items with it too like a soap saver dish cloth.

I have two more cotton crochet items in the queue and will share them as soon as they are done.
If you’d like to make the poncho for yourself here is the link. Two of Wands is one of my favorite fellow designers.
