To work this pattern you should be comfortable with yarn tension, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and working decreases for shaping. The stitch is light and airy with a beautiful drape thanks to a category 3 summer friendly yarn.
I made my first Verity crochet tank top in two tone (and the video tutorial for some of the tricky bits) in 2020. I call it a crochet tank halter hybrid because of the tank top straps. I find that style of neckline to be classic and modern all at once and of course, elegant.

The bodice stitch works up quickly. You have the option to make it in three lengths.

The best yarns for a crochet tank top that will keep you cool
No longer are synthetic yarns our main option for summer crochet and knit garments. Tencel, lyocel, cotton, bamboo and linen are readily available at our favorite yarn stores and online shops. This thrills me because I live in a warm climate. I have a whole post on warm weather yarns.
Of course I made an orange version of the Verity tank taop(I use orange more than any other color) out of Lion Brand coboo yarn and the two tone show below is Lion Brand Truboo yarn in silver and slate. My third was made with paintbox cotton dk in melon sorbet. I have a video review of truboo yarn here.

You may also like this summer crochet poncho made with truboo yarn. It feels so luxe to be draped in it while keeping you cool and comfortable thanks to the bamboo yarn that doesn’t heat up in the sun.
